IPL Players Return on Vande Bharat Train After BCCI’s Plea to Indian Railways

The Indian cricket board (BCCI) has thanked Indian Railways for arranging a special Vande Bharat train to transport IPL players, crew members, commentators, and support staff safely from Una to New Delhi.

Background of the Special Arrangement

This arrangement came after the BCCI appealed to the government following the abrupt cancellation of a match between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings on May 8 due to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan.
The match was called off mid-game with the safety of players and spectators being the top priority.
The BCCI then held an emergency meeting and decided to arrange a special train for the IPL team members and staff.

The BCCI has prioritized player safety above all else and has decided to postpone the remaining IPL matches by a week.
The exact schedule for these matches is yet to be announced.
There are 13 league stage matches still to be played, including the Delhi-Punjab match.

The outcome of the abandoned Delhi-Punjab match is still pending.
The BCCI hasn’t made an official statement about it.
The IPL website hasn’t updated the points table to include this match, suggesting it might be replayed along with the other remaining matches.
