IPL 2025: Emerging Leadership in the League
As teams gear up for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the leadership landscape is taking shape. In a significant move, Lucknow Super Giants has named Rishabh Pant as its captain for IPL 2025, following in the footsteps of KL Rahul, who has moved to Delhi Capitals.
Teams with Confirmed Captains
Pant’s appointment brings the total number of teams with confirmed captains to seven. Among them is Punjab Kings, who have declared Shreyas Iyer as their skipper. Iyer was acquired by the team for a whopping Rs 26.75 crore in the mega auction. Other notable teams with confirmed captains include Mumbai Indians (Hardik Pandya), Gujarat Titans (Shubman Gill), Chennai Super Kings (Ruturaj Gaikwad), Rajasthan Royals (Sanju Samson), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (Pat Cummins).
