IPL 2025 Reschedule: BCCI to Announce New Dates for Remaining Matches Soon.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been put on hold due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has suspended the tournament after 57 matches were played, and the 58th match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was halted mid-game due to security concerns.

Remaining Matches and Playoff Scenarios

There are 13 matches left in the league stage. The top teams are Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bangalore, both with 16 points. Punjab Kings is third with 15 points, followed by Mumbai Indians with 14. Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Lucknow Super Giants remain in the playoff race.

Resuming the Tournament

The BCCI is exploring options to reschedule the remaining matches. Possible venues include empty stadiums or alternative locations. However, no decision will be made hastily.

The suspension of IPL has coincided with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) being shifted to Dubai due to the same tensions. Players like David Warner and Jason Holder had joined the PSL after being unsold in the IPL auction. The scheduling conflict between the two leagues has added to the complexity.
