IPL 2025 Closing Ceremony Dedicated to Indian Armed Forces: Kapil Dev

The Indian cricket board’s decision to dedicate the IPL 2025 closing ceremony to the Indian armed forces has been met with widespread approval. Former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev praised this move, saying “I’m proud that the IPL has invited all the service chiefs. We should respect them for what they’ve done for us and our country.” He emphasized the importance of showing unity and strength, rather than just talking about it.

The closing ceremony, scheduled for June 3 at Ahmedabad’s stadium, will feature a performance by a military band. Popular singers may also be invited to perform, similar to the opening ceremony which featured Shreya Ghoshal. The board has invited the three service chiefs – Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal AP Singh – to attend the final match.

This gesture is a tribute to the Indian armed forces’ bravery and sacrifice. Kapil Dev’s statement highlights the significance of acknowledging and honoring their contributions. The IPL’s decision to dedicate the closing ceremony to the armed forces is a fitting way to show respect and gratitude.

The event will be a grand celebration of the IPL’s success, with the military band’s performance adding a touch of patriotism and pride. The closing ceremony promises to be an unforgettable experience, with the presence of the service chiefs and other high-ranking officials. It’s a unique opportunity for the cricket community to come together and pay tribute to the nation’s heroes.
