Since the inauguration of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008, the league has been growing year after year. Cricketers from all over the world are working hard to be a part of the IPL, the players know very well that a good performance in this mega event can change their fortunes. Mohit Sharma: Mohit Sharma, one of the most prolific fast bowlers to win the Purple Cap in the year 2014, has been inducted as a net bowler by new IPL franchise Gujarat Titans this season. Sharma, who represented Chennai Super Kings, emerged as the best wicket-taker in 2014, taking 23 wickets in 16 matches at an average of 19.65. However, this time Sharma did not find a buyer in the IPL 2022 mega auction.
Manpreet Goni: This fast bowler from Punjab impressed everyone with his performance for CSK in the inaugural season of the IPL in 2008. Goni made his way into the national team in 2008 on the strength of some good performances but was only able to play against Hong Kong and Bangladeshi. He played for Hyderabad Deccan Chargers, Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians but failed to repeat his performance for CSK team in 2008.
Tirumalasetty Suman: Tirumalasetty Suman, born in Hyderabad, was a running machine for Hyderabad Deccan Chargers. He scored 237 runs in 2009 and repeated his success in the 2010 season, scoring 307 runs for the Adam Gilchrist-led team. However, in the next season with the Mumbai Indians, he scored just 65 runs in seven innings. After that, he couldn’t show his performance and walked away from IPL and cricket.
Kamran Khan: The left arm fast bowler from a small town in Uttar Pradesh was selected by the Rajasthan Royals for the 2009 season. This Royals wunderkind impressed everyone, including the legendary Shane Warne, with his speed. He had the ability to bowl at a speed of 140 km/h. He played cricket with Rajasthan Royals until 2010 before moving to the Pune team in 2011. This fast bowler from Uttar Pradesh had made headlines overnight for his cricketing talents, he was unable to sustain his performance and stayed away of cricket.
