IPL 2022: ‘Looks like a fish without water’, Ravi Shastri made a big statement on Jadeja’s captaincy

At the start of IPL 15, Chennai Super Kings named Ravindra Jadeja the captain of the team. However, the team could not do much under his captaincy. So he left the captaincy position to concentrate on his game. After which, Mahendra Singh Dhoni once again became the captain of Chennai Super Kings. On the other hand, Ravi Shastri, the former head coach of the Indian cricket team, believes that Ravindra Jadeja is not a ‘natural captain’. Speaking of Jadeja, he said that he looked like a captain, like a fish without water.

Speaking to Cricinfo, Ravi Shastri said that Jadeja is not a ‘natural captain’. He has never captained at any level. That’s why I think the decision to give Jadeja the captaincy was difficult. People can judge him, but it’s not his fault. He has never captained. He was seen during the match as a fish without water. He is much better than that as a player. If you’re talking about offroading right now, then Jadeja’s name will be there too. Speaking further, Shastri said that CSK had to bear the loss of giving Jadeja the captaincy by losing a few matches. Jadeja as a player is much better than this.

Jadeja stepped down as team captain after the continued loss to Chennai. After which he had said that his game was being affected by the captaincy. For this reason, he has left the captaincy to focus on his game. After leaving his captaincy, Dhoni assumes command of the team.
