IPL 2022: Liam Livingstone made this record by taking a wicket on the first ball

The 64th match of IPL 2022 is played between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. In this match, Punjab Kings captain Mayank Agarwal won the toss and decided to pitch first. After being given the opportunity to bat first, the Delhi Capitals went 159 for 7 in 20 overs. In this match, Liam Livingstone made a special record on his behalf. Now he has joined the exclusive club of Marlon Samuels.

Actually, Liam Livingstone made his first since Punjab Kings. On the first ball of the over, he took a big wicket from David Warner. Warner was looking for a golden duck. Warner tries to drive the ball off Livingstone’s stump, but the ball goes airborne after hitting the rough outside edge. Rahul Chahar took a simple catch on the point back. With this, Livingstone has become the fourth spinner to take a wicket on the first ball of the IPL.

Earlier this season, in match 54, Hyderabad’s Jagdish Suchit had a wicket on the first ball of the match. He sent former RCB captain Virat Kohli to the pavilion. Virat tried to throw the ball from Suchit. But the ball went into the middle of the short wicket and Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson made no mistake in catching it. Apart from Suchit, Kevin Pietersen took the first ball court in 2009 and Marlon Samuels in IPL 2012.
