The smartphone market is a never-ending battle. Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi are the top players. Right now, Apple’s iPhone is winning.
In the first quarter of 2025, the top three best-selling smartphones were all iPhones. The standard iPhone 16 took the top spot. This is according to a report by Counterpoint Research. The iPhone 16 did really well in Japan. It also sold well in the Middle East and Africa.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max came in second. The iPhone 16 Pro was third. The basic iPhone 15 was also a top seller. The iPhone 16 Pro models made up almost half of Apple’s iPhone sales. This is impressive, given the competition in China. The iPhone 16 Plus was also a top 10 seller.
Apple is beating Samsung and Xiaomi. Samsung’s affordable Galaxy A16 5G and Galaxy A06 were the fifth and sixth best-selling phones. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra came in seventh. This is a bit of a drop from last year. The Xiaomi Redmi 14C 4G was eighth. It’s doing well in the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G was ninth.
