Tomorrow, the tech world will zero in on the big reveal of the iPhone 17, a phone many expect to set new standards. Apple, as usual, keeps a tight lid on all the specifics until the last moment. However, a whisper of information just broke through the silence today, giving us a peek at something critical: battery capacities for the different iPhone 17 models.
This year’s lineup is expected to feature four main versions. We are looking at the standard iPhone 17, the sleek new iPhone 17 Air, the more powerful iPhone 17 Pro, and the top-tier iPhone 17 Pro Max. It seems the iPhone 17 Air will step in to replace the older Plus model, aiming for a different kind of appeal.
Early leaks also gave us an idea of what these new devices might cost. The base iPhone 17 is likely to stay around €999, matching current prices. The brand-new, ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air might launch at €1099. For those wanting more power, the iPhone 17 Pro could see its price climb to €1299. This small bump makes sense, as Apple is reportedly dropping the 128 GB option, starting the Pro models with 256 GB of storage. Finally, the premium iPhone 17 Pro Max is set to be the priciest, ranging from €1469 to €1499.
Getting Down to Battery Power
Now, for the numbers that really matter to daily users. A trusted leaker, ShrimpApplePro, shared details on X.com about the battery sizes. Here’s what we expect for the standard models:
- iPhone 17: 3692 mAh
- iPhone 17 Air: 3036 mAh
- iPhone 17 Pro: 3988 mAh
- iPhone 17 Pro Max: 4832 mAh

It gets even more interesting for phones designed with e-SIM capabilities. These versions could pack even larger batteries:
- iPhone 17 Air (eSIM): 3149 mAh
- iPhone 17 Pro (eSIM): 4252 mAh
- iPhone 17 Pro Max (eSIM): 5088 mAh
This means we’re largely seeing better battery life across the board. The only exception is the new iPhone 17 Air. Since it’s a completely new model, we don’t have a direct comparison, but its slim design means it will hover around 3,000 mAh.

Compared to its predecessor, the standard iPhone 17 sees a modest 3.7% increase, going from 3,561 mAh in the iPhone 16 to 3,692 mAh. However, the iPhone 17 Pro is getting a much bigger boost. Its eSIM variant jumps by about 19%, from 3,582 mAh in the iPhone 16 Pro to a beefy 4,252 mAh. This is a considerable step up. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is also making headlines as the first in the series to push past the 5,000 mAh mark. This could mean truly all-day battery performance for Apple’s top-tier phone.
These leaks give us a solid preview of what to expect tomorrow. It looks like battery life, a constant concern for smartphone users, might be getting some serious attention this year.
