The first tests show that, as a general rule, Apple has made a qualitative leap in terms of the autonomy of its smartphones. The iPhone 13 has been surprising in the comparisons between the different models, but also against the competition.
The base models in this line are the iPhone 13 mini and the iPhone 13. These have 2406mAh and 3227mAh batteries. These are inconspicuous numbers compared to Android’s competitors. But when we go to see the results, that doesn’t seem to be a problem.
YouTube channel PhoneBuff put the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 side by side in its classic battery test. And in the first few tasks, the team was practically tied up.
IPhone 13 outperforms iPhone 13 mini in battery test
The differences begin to be noticed when browsing in the browser, Instagram and in standby mode. And the iPhone 13 mini ends up “dying” when the iPhone 13 still had 17% battery life.
Ultimately, the iPhone 13 was still able to browse Instagram for another two hours and 35 minutes, or browse for an hour and 53 minutes. In this test, the iPhone 13 mini achieves an uptime of 8 hours and 30 minutes.
Combined with a 16 hour standby mode, it survives 24 hours and 30 minutes. The iPhone 13 posted 9 hours and 42 minutes of activity, with 16 hours of standby time. In total, it reached 25 hours and 42 minutes.
Although the battery of the iPhone 13 mini does not seem to shine compared to the iPhone 13, as mentioned in the video, it has to be compared to its predecessor. And compared to the iPhone 12 mini, and a device that has a 5.4-inch screen, Apple has made healthy improvements.
The iPhone 13 continues to prove to be one of the high-end on the market with better autonomy.
