IOS 17: here is the official list of compatible iPhone models

Today was the start day of WWDC 2023 and the presentation of the new versions of Apple’s operating systems. One of the highlights was, of course, the unveiling of iOS 17 coming later this year on various iPhone models.

After the presentation of its novelties, the question that arises is which models are compatible with this operating system. Fortunately, the company has already provided that answer in the list that you can see below.

These will be the iPhones compatible with iOS 17

  • iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone 11
  • iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini
  • iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max
  • iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini
  • iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max
  • iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus
  • iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max
  • iPhone SE second and third generation

Apple iOS 17

As you probably already noticed, the iPhone 8 and iPhone X are left out of the list of models compatible with iOS 17. This is because the new version of the operating system requires the use of the A12 Bionic processor or higher.

Even so, compatibility with iOS 17 dates back to the devices presented in 2018. That is, five years after the official presentation of the iPhone XS, these models will continue to have the right to the latest version of their operating system.

The presentation of iOS 17 revealed to us that it is an update that will do much more than improve the performance of compatible models or fix bugs. We have many new features that will give iPhone users a breath of fresh air.

For example, we have new customizable call screens, instant transcription of voice messages or short video messages via FaceTime. For iMessage, we have an option to go back to the last read message or direct replies to certain messages.

The NameDrop feature makes it easy to share files between iPhone devices, now without the need to enter the recipient’s number. We also have a standby option that will put more use out of your iPhone’s lock screen while it’s charging.
