iOS 14.8 and iPadOS 14.8 arrives the day before the iPhone 13 event

Apple released iOS 14.8 and iPadOS 14.8 today, just one day before the official iPhone 13 launch event.

Unlike most Apple software updates, there was no beta testing period for iOS 14.8.

The update doesn’t add important new features, but instead “Provides important security updates.”

Apple is likely to release the final version of iOS 15 in the next few days, but you can upgrade to iOS 14.8 in the meantime.

To install a new update on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, go to Settings > General > Software Update and tap “Download and install” at the bottom of the page.
