Internal Revenue subdues three men for falsification of tags

The General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII) denounced before the Tax Crimes Investigation Unit of the Public Ministry three men for falsification of tags.

The defendants are Rafael Antonio Bautista Viloria, Rafael Núñez Lopez and Juan Heredia Peraltawho were arrested last Tuesday February 7th in flagrante delicto by the National Police.

TO Bautista Viloria and Núñez Lopez seized 72 and 11 false motor vehicle tagsrespectively, in the surroundings of the Enriquillo park in the San Carlos sector, National District, during a routine operation of the National Police Counterfeit Investigation Department.

Bautista Viloria had already been subjected by the Public Ministry, as a result of a complaint filed by the DGII on November 16, 2022, when he was also arrested in flagrante delicto by the National Police for the same acts of forgery. On that occasion, 199 false tags were seized.

Due to the fact, the Permanent Attention Court of the National District imposed an economic guarantee as coercive measures, the prohibition to leave the country without authorization and the obligation to appear periodically before the judge.

Regarding Heredia Peralta, he was arrested in the afternoon of the same day, February 7, at km 12 of the Independencia highway, National District, seizing 114 false tags.

In a subsequent raid carried out by The Public Ministry seized machines and materials with which it clandestinely manufactured false tags.

The actions of these citizens violate the provisions of articles 204, 236, 237, 238, 242 and 243 of the Dominican Tax Code and articles 139, 147, 148, 150, 151, 265, 266 and 405 of the Dominican Penal Code, reasons why those who are being subjected.
