Interactive Brokers Expands Crypto Offerings with Solana, Cardano, XRP, Dogecoin

The crypto market just got a boost from an unlikely source: Donald Trump. Four cryptocurrencies – ADA, SOL, XRP, and DOGE – are now available on Interactive Brokers, a well-known electronic brokerage firm. These coins have been making headlines lately, thanks to Trump’s plans for a US cryptocurrency reserve.

Crypto Trading Gets Easier

Interactive Brokers is expanding its crypto offerings, allowing US and UK clients to trade these new coins on the same platform they use for stocks, options, and futures. This means users can access a unified interface showing all their balances and positions in one place. The four new coins join Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash, which were already available on the platform.

The company added Bitcoin to its platform in 2021 and has been growing its crypto offerings since. Last year, it expanded crypto trading to the UK. Now, investors can set up crypto trading positions and hedge their exposure with futures, options, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Trump’s Crypto Push

The crypto market has been buzzing since Trump announced plans for a US cryptocurrency reserve. Solana, Cardano, and XRP have seen renewed interest from investors, and Trump even mentioned them as potential candidates for the reserve. Dogecoin, a popular “meme coin,” has also been in the spotlight after Trump asked Elon Musk to create a new government department with the same initials – DOGE.

While the US government hasn’t announced concrete plans to buy these coins, Trump’s executive order sets the stage for a Bitcoin reserve using coins seized in federal investigations. Interactive Brokers clients can now access these coins, with Cardano, XRP, and Dogecoin available on Zero Hash accounts and Solana on Paxos Trust accounts.
