Inter Milan to Release Mehdi Taremi Free; Fulham, Leeds United Linked

Mehdi Taremi with no space at Inter

Mehdi Taremi is back in Milan, but he is not with his team. After being stuck in Iran this past June because of the growing conflict in the Middle East, the forward has returned to a difficult situation. According to the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’, Taremi is now training all by himself. He is completely outside of Inter’s plans.

The club has made it clear he is not wanted. Coach Cristian Chivu does not see a place for the Iranian player on his squad. This comes just one year after he arrived from FC Porto. Inter is now actively looking for a new club for Taremi. He has been placed on the market as the team looks to move on.

Inter is so eager to part ways that they are willing to let the 33-year-old leave for free. The main reason is financial. Letting him go would remove his annual salary of around €3 million from their books. Last season, Taremi scored three goals and provided seven assists in 43 games for the Italian club, known as the nerazzurri.

Several teams have shown interest, but nothing is final yet. Italian media reports that Fulham, coached by Marco Silva, and Leeds United are watching him. The Turkish club Besiktas is also in the mix. Earlier this month, Taremi turned down offers from two Brazilian clubs, Flamengo and Botafogo. He prefers to continue his career in Europe. For now, he waits for a solid proposal while training alone.
