Intel Core i9 11900K reappears in tests with performance similar to Ryzen 9 5950X

Facing defeats in the market from AMD and its Ryzen line, Intel is already preparing its counterattack in the form of the 11th generation of Rocket Lake-S processors, which arrives in early 2021. Using the new Cypress Cove cores, a mix of architectures Ice Lake and Tiger Lake, the Santa Clara giant promises double-digit clock processing gains, which could bring the Intel Core family back into competition against the red team.

Targets of numerous leaks, which point to launch in March 2021 and compatibility with the Z490 boards, the Rocket Lake processors are once again showing up in new benchmark tests. More precisely, the Core i9 11900K, top of the family, was seen again in the Ashes of the Singularity game database, a relatively heavy test that has already leaked other chips in the past.

The Intel Core i9 11900K appears again in Ashes of the Singularity, with a result similar to that seen in past leaks.

The CPU had previously appeared to be performed on the Crazy preset with 1080P resolution, and gained a new result under the same conditions. This time, the Core i9 11900K scored 63 FPS, which reveals a certain consistency with what was seen before, when it reached 64 FPS. Although it doesn’t look like much, the processor positions itself well and manages to face a significantly more robust rival: the Ryzen 9 5950X.

While the Intel chip has 8 cores and 16 threads, Ryzen 9 has 16 cores and 32 threads, which indicates that we will have a tougher competition next year. AMD’s CPU shows results between 5% lower, with 57 FPS, and 11% higher, with 71 FPS. If these results are realized in real use, Intel can recover its crown, at least when it comes to games.

The lowest results recorded for the Ryzen 9 5950X, with 16 cores and 32 threads, are up to 5% lower than the new Core i9.

The 11th generation Rocket Lake-S has a confirmed launch for the first quarter of 2021, bringing some features long awaited by users of the brand, such as support for PCI-E 4.0, GPUs integrated with the new Intel Xe architecture, AVX-512 instructions for processing Artificial Intelligence and more.
