Instagram adopts a design similar to TikTok

Instagram goes one step further to attract users with new tools. Now try a new version of your full screen feed, similar to that of TikTok, and thus compete directly.

It aims to improve the way photos appear in this new format. The company will also use it to test changes to the navigation bar at the bottom of the Instagram app, where it will soon add shortcuts for creating a post and accessing messages. This update allows, among other things, pin up to three posts (photos or Reels) at the top of the profile.

Despite this, these developments are still in Test phase on accounts selected by your team. The latest changes added to a series of announcements that include a total redesign to give it a new image to the official app.

Content recommendation to accounts you don’t follow

The new feed is enticing for creators, as Instagram said it would start recommending their content to users who don’t follow them. It would be similar to how TikTok launches content it thinks you might like on its For You page. Another benefit for professional creators and advertisers is when different apps standardize around one format. This allows content to be more easily reused across platforms.

Photos are still an important part of Instagram.
