Innovative ‘hands free’ umbrella for Umrah pilgrims

RIYADH: Saudi youths have developed an umbrella for Umrah pilgrims that attaches to the body and occupies less space.

According to Urdu News, a group of Saudi youth has succeeded in preparing a hands-free umbrella for the convenience of Hajj pilgrims.

Hand-free umbrella models have also been introduced at the Hajj and Umrah exhibition and conference held at the Jeddah Superdome, and the umbrellas were well received by a large number of people.

Abdul Latif Al-Sabi’i, head of the hand-free umbrella making group, says that the basic idea of ​​making umbrellas came from seeing the pilgrims circumambulating the Kaaba.

He said that during Tawaf and holy prayers, an umbrella has to be used to avoid the sun, there are many disadvantages of the traditional umbrella. It is broken by strong winds while its exposed wires are caught by others causing difficulty.

Abdul Latif added that it took 3 to 4 years to implement the umbrella idea, trying to create something that was easy to use and had more benefits.

Another member of the group said that the hands-free umbrella is very easy to use, with the belt provided that goes easily around the waist, eliminating the need to carry the umbrella.

Also, the way it is designed does not bother other people.
