Last Tuesday saw the light GUAVA, a new bicycle brand born in Barcelona by NSN Ventures. GUAVA focuses on the experience of the cyclist who wants to enjoy, have fun and break with the routine on the best routes, tracks and trails for gravel cycling. The brand is the result of the idea of two friends, David Álvarez and Nacho Suárez, who have more than 25 years of experience in the bicycle industry; a project to which the footballer Bojan Krkić has also joined, former player of clubs such as FC Barcelona, AC Milan, Roma, Ajax or Vissel Kobe, among others.
Bojan Krkić joins the company as a partner given his passion for the world of cycling and, above all, for gravel. And it is that cycling is one of the sports that he likes and practices the most, beyond football. The project is backed by Never say never Ventures (NSN), the business incubator of the soccer player Andrés Iniesta, thus becoming a new venture of the group.
GUAVA has set out to do three things: first, focus on the rider’s experience and the enjoyment of riding, especially on gravel. Second, to be a fun and inclusive brand where everyone is welcome. And finally, offer a excellent bicycle at a very competitive price, eliminating intermediaries and connecting directly with cyclists through the different points of contact (digital ecosystem, Guava Clubhouse, own and third-party events, etc.) The frames are designed from scratch by the Guava team to implement only the features that help make the gravel experience the best possible. In Barcelona, all the bicycles are designed, painted and assembled, with the ability to customize frame color and details, with more than 140 different combinations.
