According to a confidential note from territorial intelligence revealed in the press this Friday, August 27, the anti-health pass or anti-tax movements seem to be a breeding ground for anti-system groups. The latter would indeed tend to take advantage of the health crisis, to “strengthen the links between their followers and strengthen their business”.
The protest movement against the health pass would thus prove to be a boon for conspirators and gurus of all kinds. The mission to fight against sectarian aberrations (Miviludes) had also sounded the alarm in July, on the risks incurred by people weakened or distressed by the health crisis. Indeed, the latter are easy prey for conspiracy, anti-system or sectarian movements.
And for good reason, “conspiracy and sectarian movements feed on each other within the framework of an anti-system dynamic, analyzes the territorial intelligence, in its note revealed by our colleagues of RTL. Taking advantage of the agonizing atmosphere of the pandemic, the thinkers with a conspiracy tendency are therefore attracting new followers with, in particular, themes such as well-being and health, alert the services.
The Ministry of the Interior lists concrete cases
The information evokes the case of Thierry C., a theorist of raw food consumption, that is to say the fact of consuming raw food. At the head of an association, he is one of the figures of the opponents of modern medicine, advocating the end of conventional care. According to the accounts filed with the registry of the Perpignan commercial court, his company made a profit of more than 600,000 euros in 2019. The pseudo-therapist is the most reported personality at Miviludes, with 96 referrals in 2020.
Another example, the QAnon movement, a conspiracy movement imported from the United States, convinced that personalities from the media, political or financial world, indulge in pedo-satanic crimes. This theory would have the wind in its sails after, in addition, having added the vaccine against the Covid-19 as proof of “a broad mental manipulation”.
These various conspiratorial theses and clearly dangerous, according to the territorial intelligence agents, can lead to offenses of mental manipulation, and to the abuse of weakness of a person in a state of psychological subjection. Psychological subjection, a notion inscribed in French law since 2001, serves as the legal basis for the government’s anti-sect policy.
