The digital world watched closely as TikTok favorites Abby and Matt Howard shared some incredibly difficult news this past Saturday, September 27. The popular couple announced they are stepping back from social media for a while. This decision came after a heartbreaking pregnancy loss.
Abby, 26, and her husband Matt had exciting news in August. They told their fans they were expecting their third child. They are already loving parents to Griffin, age 3, and August, age 2. But what should have been a joyful journey took a tragic turn.
“During a routine pregnancy check-up, our doctor couldn’t find a heartbeat,” the Howards posted together on their Instagram account. They were quickly sent for an ultrasound. There, the technician delivered words no parent ever wants to hear. “I’m so very sorry, I don’t have good news,” she said.
That’s when Matt and Abby learned the gender of their baby. They also found out their baby had a genetic condition. This condition sadly took their baby’s life around 17 weeks of pregnancy. “The news felt unbelievable,” they shared.
Despite the deep sadness, the couple is finding strength. They wrote, “The pain is completely crushing, but we feel so much thanks for the time we had with her.” They still hold onto hope. “Hope has stayed with us in many ways,” they explained. For now, they plan to grieve privately. They will also find ways to honor their baby’s life away from the cameras.
The Howards ended their public message by inviting support. “Your thoughts and prayers are more than welcome,” they said. “Thank you all for celebrating this precious life with us over the last 17 weeks.” Their emotional post quickly filled with messages of love.
Many fellow influencers reached out to support the Howards. Tori Roloff, known from ‘Little People, Big World,’ shared her sorrow. “I am so sorry, Abby. This is the hardest thing a mom (and dad) can ever face,” Tori wrote. “I pray for your strength! It always comforted me to know that the first face my baby saw was Jesus. I hope that brings you comfort too. Love you, friend.”
Other big names in the influencer community also sent their condolences. Jill Duggar, Lindsay Arnold, Sadie Robertson, Devin Cordle, and Sam Patterson all offered comforting words. Emilie Kiser, another well-known figure, also shared a touching message. “I am so incredibly sorry,” Kiser wrote. “Sending you love and comfort. I am here for you.”
Emilie Kiser’s words carried a special weight. The 26-year-old influencer knows this kind of pain all too well. Her own 3-year-old son, Trigg, passed away in May after a drowning accident in their family pool. Like the Howards, Kiser also stepped away from social media after her loss. She only returned to her platform earlier this month.
Kiser posted a video on TikTok on September 20. She showed her raw feelings about coming back. “Hey guys, I don’t even know what to say,” she began. “It’s been a while, obviously, since I’ve been on here. I’m not going to lie to you, I’m super nervous right now.” She added that she wasn’t sure how to start the video, but she would try her best.
She spoke about missing her daily chats with her followers. “I truly love this community we have here,” she shared. “I hope by coming back and sharing what I decide, I can reconnect with you all. And hopefully, help anyone going through something similar.” Kiser admitted she had been “disconnected” as she tried to understand her new life. “I am going day by day,” she said. “I will do the same with my content.”
Emilie and her husband, Brady Kiser, also have another son named Teddy, who was born in March. The way these public figures share their deepest personal struggles shows a powerful connection. Their online communities offer a space for shared grief and hope during unimaginable times.
