The next big chapter for Infinity Nikki, version 1.8, is called the “Danqing Season.” It brings a breathtaking visual style inspired by traditional Chinese painting. Players familiar with the game will immediately spot this unique aesthetic.
Starting July 30 and running until September 2, a brand-new story unfolds. It takes players on an immersive journey to Danqing Island. This is a place where the delicate lines of a Chinese brush painting truly merge with reality.
The name “Danqing” itself has deep roots. It’s an old Chinese term for painting that uses shades of red and bluish-green. These colors were key in many ancient artworks. This update celebrates those colors, the skilled craft, and the rich cultural spirit behind them. In this adventure, Nikki and her friend Momo are pulled into strange disturbances in the “sea of stars.” Their path leads them to a mysterious scroll and an island that seems frozen in time.
Danqing Island feels like a quiet, peaceful dream. It first appears in version 1.8. A mysterious prophet guides Nikki into this parallel dimension. Here, mist-covered mountains, lush bamboo forests, and clear lakes come together to form a living painting. But don’t let the calm fool you. A puzzle hides within this beauty. Islanders are mysteriously vanishing. Nikki must uncover the island’s secrets to bring everyone back home.
Beyond the main storyline, the Danqing Season offers a load of special activities. Players can try their hand at ancient Go. They can also float down rivers on a bamboo raft. There are even Chinese art filters for taking cool in-game photos. And of course, you can collect gorgeous historical fashion sets.
At the heart of the island’s myths is a yearly ritual. Honored artists “paint the eyes” of a white dragon. This awakens its spirit, letting it protect the land. This season, players will face a new boss: Inkshade: Painting Loong. This mysterious guardian watches over the island’s inky core.
This fresh update also brings three new outfits to collect:
- Clouded Loong (5-star): This outfit lets you summon a white dragon and fly through the sky with your friends. Its design comes from the “flying dragon,” an old symbol of grace, smarts, and good luck. It honors those who protect the sky and earth.
- Forever Bond (5-star): Unleash poison talismans and mysterious makeup effects, even when taking photos. This look is inspired by the “spirit cat” legend. These shapeshifting creatures are said to protect travelers from the spirit world.
- Danqing Craft (Special Power Set): This set gives Nikki the ability to turn objects made of ink back into real items. It shows how inspiration and art can truly change the world.
There’s also a limited-time event called “Momo, Where Are You?” Here, players search for the missing Momo. You need to find 10 hidden Momos in various pictures for each stage. New stages open every day. Players can earn lots of in-game rewards, like diamonds and resonite crystals.
