Inespre reinforces popular sales at low costs

More of 700 producers and 250 companies benefit from programs of the Price Stabilization Institute (Inespre) and over seven million people have purchased food at low costs, through the popular sales of that organization on a national scale.

According to a statement from the government entity, during one year and six months of the current administration of its head, Iván Hernández Guzmán, 9,524 sales operations have been carried out; 8,006 mobile warehouses that have benefited 4,286,860 people, and 1,518 farmers’ markets that have impacted 2,809,200 citizens.

These programs “favor the population and agricultural producers through the purchase of food and training.”

More of 700 producers of bananas, rice, onions, garlic, bananas and other foodstuffs have been supported through the purchase of their crops and more than 250 companies through the purchase and contracting of their goods and services, whose processes have been carried out in compliance with all State regulations.

About 600 merchants and producers sell food directly to the population in 60 farmers’ markets that take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays of each week.

In addition, he specifies, Inespre has trained 1,300 producers in good agricultural practicessafety, pest management, post-harvest and marketing processes and travels daily to various parts of the country with its mobile warehouse program.

Iván Hernández Guzmán, director of Inespre, thanked President Luis Abinader for the support and trust placed in him and pledged to continue contributing to agricultural development, providing producers with fair and organized marketing that guarantees access to quality food for all consumers.
