The National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI) held this Wednesday the VI Zonal School March Gala, in which it delivered sports props and then carried out a survey with a view to remodeling several fields in this northwestern city of the country.
The activity, organized by the INEFI gymnastics department, was led by Stephany Aracena, an assistant to Alberto Rodríguez Mella, executive director of INEFI.
The VI Zonal School March Gala is the qualifying phase with a view to the grand final to be held next October. Regionals 08, 09, 11 and 13 participated in the fair at the primary and secondary levels.
In her speech, held at the Maeño sports center, Aracena highlighted the efforts of INEFI to promote physical education and school sports in the Dominican Republic.
Meanwhile, the surveys for the renovation of the fields were headed by the engineer Manuel Fondeur, who carried out an exhaustive inspection in several school buildings, including the María Auxiliadora, Juan Pablo Duarte, Dolores Viuda de Bogaert, Cruce de Esperanza and the Hermanas Mirabal Educational Center.

At the gala, eight groups divided between primary and secondary, each representing their regional, with the Ponte Zuela Abajo School, from Regional 08 (Santiago), being the one that went to the grand final at the primary level.
Meanwhile, the Eduardo Brito Polytechnic (Puerto Plata), of the educational district 11-02, did the same at the secondary level.

Stephany Aracena and Manuel Fondeur were accompanied by Cándido Rodríguez, regional director 09; Odalis Rodríguez, mayor of Mao; Arístides Ventura, director of District 09-01; Corporal Polanco Monción, representing the director of the National Police, Colonel Sánchez.
Also present were Lieutenant Colonel Icelso Santos Hernández, deputy director of the 09 Regional School Police; Edwin Mora, representative of the Valverde government; Carlos Gómez and Carlos Carrascos, INEFI regional and gymnastics manager, respectively.
A group of national teaching technicians also participated in the event, who performed the functions of judges, as well as an administrative staff that acted as technical support.
