INEFI delivers three renovated fields to schools in San Pedro de Macorís

The executive director of the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI), Alberto Rodríguez Mella, inaugurated this weekend three renovated fields in the same number of schools located in this eastern province.

Rodríguez Mella, fulfilling the purpose of encouraging school sports and physical education, made an exhaustive tour of seven schools in the Eastern Region, three of which received rehabilitated courts for basketball and volleyball practice.

The INEFI director was received by the authorities and students of those educational establishments, whom he motivated to promote and strengthen the practice of school physical education in schools.

Among the schools inspected are the Gastón Fernando Deligne Educational Center (educational district 05-01), where three fields were renovated; Educational Center for Sports Excellence Professor Alberto Bayas and the José Joaquín Pérez Secondary School.

Rodríguez also supervised the Madre Carmen Sallés Basic School, Juan Pablo Duarte High School, Inmaculada Concepción Polytechnic and the Batey Cachena Educational Center.

The INEFI director was accompanied by his work team, with whom he inspected the sports facilities and carried out a survey to assess their conditions.

The official’s visit is part of the tours carried out by the 122 educational districts in order to verify the needs of props and the state of the facilities in schools throughout the national geography.

“Our job is to promote physical education and school sports. We have a commitment to comb the entire national geography and come to the aid of schools, especially the most vulnerable ones, ”he said.

“Since we arrived at INEFI, one of our axes has been the policy of delivering props to different schools in the country, in order to promote learning and a healthy life for students, through sports and physical activity,” Rodríguez said in one of his speeches.
