Industrial Confidence Index rises to 57.2 in the second quarter of 2022

The Industrial Confidence Index (ICI) showed a upward trend for second quarter consecutively going from 48.5 in the last quarter of 2021 to 51.5 in the first quarter of 2022 and 57.2 in the second quarter (April-June 2022).

Instead, andl Business Climate Index (ICE) fell in the second quarter of 2022, going from 62.3 in the January-March 2022 quarter to 59.2 in the April-June 2022 quarter.

The behavior for the second quarter of the year of the ICE is a consequence, according to the survey, of the balance of opinion of Dominican businessmen about the Dominican economy, the international economy, the climate to invest and the company, which decreased in value.

Instead, the balance of opinion on the branch of the company was the only one that rose, going from 26.27 to 26.83.

The Industrial Situation Survey (ECI), prepared by the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD), summarizes the result of the performance and perceptions of entrepreneurs through the calculation of two main indices: 1) The Industrial Confidence Index (ICI) and, 2) the Business Climate Index (ICE).

The Industrial Confidence Index (ICI) showed an upward change, going from 51.5 in the January-March 2022 quarter to 57.2 in the second quarter of the year (April-June 2022).
