Indra Secures Majority Stake in ITP Aero, to Receive Dividend of €59.6 Million

Indra Recovers Third of Investment in ITP Aero in One Year

Spanish technology company Indra is set to receive a dividend of 59.6 million euros for its 9.5% stake in ITP Aero, making its investment of 175 million euros in 2023 profitable.

According to a press release, the dividend payment was approved by ITP Aero’s board of directors, following a proposal by its majority shareholder, Bain Capital. The dividend payment is part of an extraordinary payment of 629 million euros.

Although Indra’s entry into ITP Aero and representation on its board of directors has an industrial objective, the dividend payment makes the 175 million euros investment profitable.

Indra’s Strategic Partnership with ITP Aero

Indra’s president, Marc Murtra, emphasized that the company’s participation in ITP Aero is long-term and aligned with its strategic plan "Leading the Future," aiming to lead the Spanish defense and aerospace ecosystem in less than 10 years.

The two companies have established a framework agreement for strategic technological collaboration, aiming to enhance their value, take advantage of synergies, and promote joint systems and technologies, including developments resulting from cooperation on the FCAS, the future European air combat system.

Recovery of Investment

In just one year, Indra has managed to recover a third of its investment in ITP Aero, demonstrating the company’s successful investment strategy and its commitment to the Spanish defense and aerospace sector.
