Inditex increases online sales by 64.1% in countries without a physical store in 2021

The online stores of Inditex continue at cruising speed. The textile company, which saw how the pandemic boosted the importance of this sales channel in its business, continued to grow strongly last year in those countries where it does not have physical stores. As shown by the slopes of its subsidiary Fashion Retail SLdeposited in the Commercial Registry and collected by the newspaper Expansiononline sales in these markets reached in 2021 the €448 million, which represents an increase in revenue of 64.1%. This company collects the income generated by the global online stores of the different Inditex brands, and which provide services to countries in which it does not have a physical presence, especially in Africa or Oceania.

As a result of the increase in activity, as shown by the data, the net profit of the company also increased to reach 60.5 million euros67% more than in 2020. For its part, the operating result of fashion retail stood at 81.8 million, representing an increase of 74%.

Last year, the subsidiary of the group also increased its main spending items with a rise of 57% in supply costs and 72% in external services.

Inditex registered a net profit of 1,034 million euros in the second quarter of this year, 21.5% more than in 2021. Accumulated, the first half ended with a net profit of 1,794 million euros compared to 1,272 million in the same period of the previous year.

The firm has seen its total turnover grow 24.5% year-on-year this year to reach 14,845 million, a figure that exceeded the 12,820 million recorded before the outbreak of the pandemic. The net result shot up 41%up to 1,794 million euros.
