India’s Suchi Upadhyaya Ruled Out of England Series Due to Injury

The Indian men’s cricket team is gearing up to face England in a 5-match Test series starting June 20. Led by Shubman Gill, the team is currently training in Beckenham. They’ll play intra-squad practice matches from now till June 16. The senior men’s team isn’t the only one touring England – the under-19 team and women’s team are also making the trip.

India’s women’s cricket team will play a 5-match T20 series in England, followed by a 3-match ODI series. The first T20 match is on June 28, and the series wraps up on July 12. The ODI series kicks off on July 16 and ends on July 22. These matches are crucial warm-ups before the Women’s ODI World Cup in India and Sri Lanka from September 30 to November 2.

The World Cup will feature 8 teams playing 31 matches, with the final on November 2 in Bengaluru – unless Pakistan makes it to the final, in which case the match will be in Colombo. The Indian women’s team is led by Harmanpreet Kaur, with Smriti Mandhana as vice-captain. Other key players include Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Richa Ghosh.

In a setback, Suchi Upadhyay got injured during practice and is out for the entire tour. The BCCI has named Radha Yadav as her replacement. Upadhyay suffered a shin injury while training at the Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. The team is looking to fine-tune their skills before the World Cup, and these matches against England will be a good test of their abilities.
