India’s Smriti Mandhana Hits Century, Sets Sri Lanka Target of 343 Runs in Final

India’s women’s cricket team is on track to win the Tri-Nation Series final against Sri Lanka in Colombo. The Indian team batted first and set a target of 343 runs.

A Record-Breaking Innings

Smriti Mandhana played a crucial role in India’s total, scoring her 11th ODI century.
Mandhana’s knock included 15 fours and 2 sixes off 101 balls. She became India’s leading centurion in women’s ODIs and the third-highest overall.
Mandhana was part of two vital partnerships – a 70-run opening stand with Priyanka Dewal and a 120-run second-wicket partnership with Harleen Deol.
Other Indian batters who made significant contributions were Harleen Deol (47), Harmanpreet Kaur (41), and Jemimah Rodrigues (44).
India finished with 342/7 in 50 overs.

A Historic Achievement

Mandhana’s century helped her surpass England’s Tammy Beaumont, who has 10 ODI centuries.
Australia’s Meg Lanning leads the list with 15 ODI centuries, while New Zealand’s Suzie Bates is second with 13 centuries.
Mandhana is closing in on Bates’ record and could overtake her with three more centuries.
Two more centuries would put Mandhana level with Bates, while five would propel her to the top spot.
