Team India is gearing up for a big test. They’re starting a new cycle in the World Test Championship. This time, it’s different – they have a new captain, Shubman Gill. And for the first time in a while, they’ll be playing without Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Their first challenge is a 5-test series against England, starting June 20. England’s green pitches will be tough, with the ball swinging a lot. Without Rohit and Virat, this series will be even harder.
After that, India hosts two teams at home. In October, West Indies comes for a 2-test series, followed by South Africa in November for another 2 tests. In 2026, India only plays 4 tests, all at the end of the year. They visit England in August for a 2-test series, then head to New Zealand in October.
The World Test Championship cycle ends with a bang – India faces Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2027. But this time, Australia is visiting India.
