India’s first stuntwoman is Reshma Pathan, whose life was saved en route during the filming of Sholay.

India’s first stuntwoman, Reshma Pathan, The Sholay Girl. For just a few rupees, she put on the clothes of the heroine and did dangerous stunts and died in the movies. In about 500 movies like Sholay, Karz, Dharam Veer, she did a lot of stunts becoming a stunt double of great heroines like Hema Malini, Rekha, Sridevi, but unfortunately, all her risky plays had the face of heroines.

It is about that time when men dressed up as girls and became the body double of the heroine. But with the arrival of Reshma, a new era in Hindi cinema arrived. To become the first stuntwoman, she had to fight against the association and many important people, but today, thanks to her, girls work as stuntmen in Hindi cinema. She had to fight a battle with childhood and poverty before fighting to become the first stuntwoman in motion pictures.

There was no house and no means of earning a living. To feed 5 siblings, Reshma used to buy rice from shops at low prices and sell it door-to-door when she was a child. She also had to spend several nights at the police station. But it is said that talent is not interested in progress for a long time. Something similar happened with Reshma.

Stunt director Azim Shaikh saw Reshma running down the road and took her to the cinema. If she had received 100 to 200 rupees for betting on her life on set, she would have to face serious accidents on set. A similar thing happened on the sets of Sholay when Reshma’s leg, who was doing stunts instead of Hema, flipped over and fell on her. Her life was saved that day. Reshma had also said in an interview that once Dharmendra was so happy with her talent after doing a stunt scene on the set of Sholay that she was given 100 rupees.
