Under 19 Women’s T20 World Cup Kicks Off
The Under 19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 has begun, and the Indian team, led by captain Nikki Prasad, has made an impressive start by defeating West Indies by nine wickets in their first match.
Team India’s Bowling Performance
The Indian bowlers delivered a devastating performance as they restricted the West Indies to just 44 runs. The opposing team’s captain, Samara Ramnath, was dismissed for only three runs, while opener Asabi Kalender returned to the pavilion after scoring 12 runs. Kenika Kaiser was also out for 15 runs.

Ayushi Shukla, Joshitha VJ, and Parunika Sisodia showcased brilliant performance for Team India. Ayushi Shukla took two wickets for six runs in four overs, including one maiden over. Sisodia secured three wickets for seven runs in 2.2 overs. Joshitha VJ, who was named the Player of the Match, claimed two wickets for just five runs in two overs.
India’s Batting Performance
Team India achieved victory in just 4.2 overs. The opening pair, Trisha and G Kamalini, began strongly, with Trisha scoring four runs before being dismissed. Kamalini played a pivotal role, scoring 16 unbeaten runs with three fours. Sanika Chalke also delivered an unbeaten 18 runs, hitting three fours in 11 balls.

Following this impressive win, Team India will face Malaysia in their next match on January 21. Their match against Sri Lanka is scheduled for January 23.
