India’s concerns mounted ahead of the Asian Cup, Kohli failing miserably in front of these bowlers

The Indian team has started preparations for the upcoming Asian Cup. Ahead of the ODI World Cup, the players of the 17-strong team announced for this important tournament have started camp at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru from today. The Indian team will begin their Asian Cup participation on August 30th with a game against Pakistan on September 2nd. In such a situation, all eyes will surely be on former captain Virat Kohli’s performance.

Virat Kohli’s racquet has performed extremely well against Pakistan so far. However, as of 2022, Kohli has performed very poorly with the ODI format racquet against left-arm spin bowlers. Kohli’s problem is also a major concern for the team. Because at the Asian Cup, where Team India will play all games in Sri Lanka, the next one will be in India. In such a situation, it is imperative to recognize the dominance of the spin bowlers.

If we look at Virat Kohli’s record against left-arm spin bowlers in ODIs dating back to 2022, he managed to hit just 102 runs in 10 innings for a 14.7 average. Kohli was also released seven times. Although Kohli has seen better form with the racquet this year and is seen playing better at the Asian Cup.

Suryakumar Yadav, who plays in the middle division of the Indian team, also had to witness the fight against the left-armed spin bowlers in the ODI format. Surya has hit just 94 runs in 12 innings with a 16.7 average since 2022 and has been the victim of a left-arm spinner six times during that time.
