New Delhi: An Indian Army plane crashed, fortunately the pilot survived but suffered minor injuries. The plane was on a routine training flight.
According to details, an Indian Air Force MiG-21 Bison fighter plane crashed during a routine training flight in Rajasthan yesterday. The pilot sustained minor injuries in the crash and was rushed to hospital by local villagers.
According to Indian media, defense spokesman Lt. Col. Amitabh Sharma said that the plane crashed in an uninhabited area of Matsar village in Barmer at around 5.30 pm Indian time, allegedly setting a hut on fire. ۔
No casualties were reported in the crash, a local district official told media. Part of the wreckage caught fire and is scattered over a large area.
A tweet from the Indian Air Force after the crash said, “A technical glitch occurred after the MiG-21 Bison took off for a training flight.
The Indian Air Force added in its Twitter message that an inquiry has been ordered to find out the cause of the crash.
The Russian-made single-engine, single-seater multi-role fighter / ground attack aircraft is considered the backbone of the Indian Air Force. Its maximum speed is 2230 km per hour.
Remember that MiG-21s have been in the Indian Air Force for decades and accidents of these planes are frequent.
