Bollywood and South Indian releases experienced significant drops in their box office collections on Wednesday. Several films, including Ajay Devgn’s “De De Pyaar De 2,” Dulquer Salmaan’s “Kantha,” and Yami Gautam’s “Haq,” are struggling to meet their budget expectations.
Ajay Devgn’s romantic comedy-drama “De De Pyaar De 2” saw a sharp decline on its sixth day of release. The film collected approximately $420,000 on Wednesday, a notable decrease from its Tuesday earnings of $600,000.
The total collection for “De De Pyaar De 2” now stands at approximately $5.73 million. Starring Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, and Madhavan, the film has yet to recover half of its estimated budget.
South Indian film “Kantha,” featuring Dulquer Salmaan, also performed poorly on its sixth day. It earned approximately $192,000 on Wednesday, down from $222,000 on Tuesday.
“Kantha” has accumulated a total of approximately $2.29 million at the box office. With an reported budget of $4.8 million, the film has not managed to recover half its production cost.
Yami Gautam’s film “Haq,” which focuses on women’s rights, also saw its earnings drop significantly. On its 13th day of release, Wednesday, the film collected just $42,000.
This figure marks a decline from its 12th-day collection of $54,000. The film’s cumulative box office stands at approximately $2.17 million.
“Haq” was produced with a budget of $4.8 million. Its slow pace of collection suggests it is unlikely to recoup its investment.
