India Makes a Strong Comeback, Beats Zimbabwe in Second T20I

The second match of the five-match T20 series between India and Zimbabwe was played at Harare Sports Club. Team India won this match, making a strong comeback after a disappointing loss in the previous match.

India’s Victory

Team India won this match by 100 runs, with Abhishek Sharma being the hero of the match. He scored a strong century in 46 balls, with 7 fours and 8 sixes at a strike rate of 212.77. Abhishek got out as soon as he scored a century, but his brilliant innings helped India set a huge target of 235 runs for Zimbabwe.

How the Match Played Out

In the first innings, India lost only two wickets in 20 overs and scored 234 runs on the board. India struggled in the beginning, losing its first wicket in the form of captain Shubman Gill at a score of just 10 runs. Abhishek Sharma and Ruturaj Gaikwad then took charge of India’s innings, adding 137 runs for the second wicket.

Abhishek Sharma completed his century in 46 balls and went on to score 100 runs in 47 balls. After his brilliant innings, Ruturaj Gaikwad along with Rinku Singh took over the Indian innings. Ruturaj scored 77 runs in 47 balls, and Rinku Singh scored 48 runs in 22 balls, hitting 2 fours and 5 sixes during his innings.

Zimbabwe’s Failure in the Run Chase

Zimbabwe, which came out to chase a big target, started lagging behind in the match and was all out for 134 runs in 18.4 overs. The team lost its first wicket in the very first over at a score of just 4 runs. After this, Zimbabwe quickly added 36 runs for the second wicket, but the Indian bowlers made a comeback and dismissed Brian Bennett.

Indian Bowlers Shine

Mukesh Kumar and Avesh Khan got three wickets each for India, while Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets and Washington Sundar took one wicket. The next match of the series between the two teams will be played at Harare Sports Club on July 10.
