India to Face Sri Lanka in T20 and ODI Series

The Indian cricket team has arrived in Sri Lanka to take part in a T20 and ODI series against the host nation. The T20 series will consist of three matches, followed by the ODI series, which will also have three matches.

Many Changes in the T20 Team

The T20 team selected by the BCCI against Sri Lanka has undergone several changes. After the victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, Team India captain Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from T20 International. Hardik Pandya, who was the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team during the World Cup, was expected to take over as captain, but the BCCI surprised everyone by appointing Suryakumar Yadav as the new captain of the T20 team.

The Indian team took off from Mumbai on Monday and reached Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo about two hours later. They then traveled to Pallekele by bus, where the first match of the T20 series will be played. The team has arrived with new head coach Gautam Gambhir, who will be coaching the team for the first time.
