India vs England 2nd ODI Kohli Return Possible for Cuttack Match

The Indian cricket team is set to face England in the second ODI match at the Cuttack ground. After winning the first match, India is leading the series 1-0 and is looking to win the series with a victory in the second match. In the first ODI, Virat Kohli did not play due to knee pain, but he is now fully prepared to return to the second ODI match, as indicated by Vice-captain Shubman Gill. Despite Kohli’s absence, Team India won the first match easily, thanks to impressive performances from both the bowlers and batsmen.

For the second ODI match, Shubman Gill may open with Rohit Sharma, as Yashasvi Jaiswal failed to perform well in the first ODI, scoring only 15 runs. Gill, who played at number three, scored 87 runs and helped Team India win the match. Virat Kohli is expected to play at number three, and both he and Rohit would like to find their best rhythm before the Champions Trophy 2025.

In the middle order, Shreyas Iyer may get a chance at number four, having scored a strong half-century in the first ODI match. KL Rahul could be given a chance at number five and may also be entrusted with the responsibility of wicketkeeper. Hardik Pandya may be launched at number six, while Ravindra Jadeja and Akshar Patel may also get a chance in the playing XI, as they specialize in excellent bowling and batting. Jadeja took 3 important wickets for 26 runs in his 9 overs in the last match, and Akshar scored 52 runs.

Mohammed Shami may lead the fast bowling attack, as Jasprit Bumrah is not included in the Indian team’s squad for the second ODI. Arshdeep Singh may get a chance in place of Harshit Rana, who proved to be very expensive in the first ODI, despite taking 3 wickets. The responsibility of the spin department may be entrusted to Kuldeep Yadav.

The potential playing XI for Team India in the second ODI match could be: Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Akshar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, and Kuldeep Yadav.
