The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently announced the schedule for India’s tour of Sri Lanka, which is set to take place in July-August. The tour will include a five-match series, featuring three T20 and three ODI matches.
T20 Series in July
The T20 series is scheduled to start on July 26 and will conclude on July 29. The first T20 match will be played at the Pallekele ground, with the remaining two matches taking place on July 27 and 29. All matches of the T20 series will start at 7 PM Indian time.
ODI Series in August
The ODI series is set to begin on August 1 and will conclude on August 7. The first ODI will take place at the Colombo ground on August 1, followed by matches on August 4 and 7. All matches of the ODI series will start at 2:30 PM Indian time.
Head-to-Head Record
Ahead of the series, here’s a look at the head-to-head record between India and Sri Lanka. In 168 ODI matches played so far, India has emerged victorious 99 times, while Sri Lanka has won 57. There have been 11 instances where the matches ended in a draw, with one tie.
New Coaches Appointed
The Sri Lankan team is set to face new coaches, Gautam Gambhir (India) and Sanath Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka), ahead of the series. Additionally, Sri Lankan captain Wanindu Hasaranga has stepped down as captain even before the series against India.
