According to Indian media reports, the Hindu orphan girl’s marriage took place on July 31 in the Indian city of Vijaypur.
It is worth mentioning that Pooja, 18, was sponsored by a Muslim named Mehboob Musli from India.
The girl was orphaned a decade ago after her relatives refused to care for her, but Mehboob Musli gladly accepted the responsibility and raised the girl as a father for 10 years.
“Pooja has been in my house for a decade, but we have never forced her to practice our religion or marry a Muslim because it is against our religion,” Mehboob Musli said.
“It was my responsibility to marry Pooja to someone of her own religion,” he said.
