The Organization of Islamic Cooperation says India should protect Muslim minorities and respect all their basic religious and social rights.
The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) last month called the police crackdown on hundreds of Muslim families evicted from their homes in the Darang district of the Indian state of Assam in the name of encroachment.
The OIC termed the media coverage of the case as shameful and called on India to act responsibly.

It is to be noted that during the said operation, two Muslim citizens were shot dead by the Indian police and after that a video came to light in which the police and a photographer were seen desecrating the bodies.
