Kidambi Srikanth’s comeback is likely to face Singapore’s Loh Keen Youu, who have met in a draw, while PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen have easy draws at the 2022 Yonex Sunrise India Open from January 11-16 here.

Srikanth, the top favorite, recently returned to the top 10 of the world rankings thanks to a silver medal at the World Championships. He will start his campaign against Cyril Verma at the India Open. They may have a chance to avenge their loss to Loh Keen Youu at the World Championship as the two could meet in the semi-finals depending on the draw.

Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medalist, would hope to win her first title in the New Year. Seeded Sindhu will face compatriot Sri Krishna Priya Kudravalli in her first match. She is likely to face fifth-seeded Evgenia Kostskaya of Russia in the last eight stages.

Viewers are also looking forward to a showdown between Sindhu and former number one Saina Nehwal. However, Saina has a difficult picture. London Olympics bronze medalist and fourth-seeded Saina is expected to face seventh-seeded Iris Wang of America in the quarter-finals and second-seeded Busanan Ongbamrungphan in the semi-finals.
