India: Lt General’s son drags Chairperson Women Commission with car

A heart-wrenching incident happened with Swati Maliwal, Chairperson of the Women’s Commission in Delhi, India.

According to media reports, Swati Maliwal was molested by a drunk driver on Wednesday night and tried to force her into the car.

Swati Maliwal refused and resisted. They tried to grab the driver whereupon the accused stuck his hand in the window of the car and dragged him along the car for at least 10 to 15 meters.

Acting on the complaint of Swati Maliwal, the police arrested the accused, who was identified as 47-year-old Harsh Chand, son of Lt. Gen. Darjan Singh Sakon. Police registered a case against him and started investigation.

Swati Maliwal said in her statement on Twitter that last night I was inspecting the security situation of women in Delhi and during that time a drunk driver abused me.

They said that when I tried to catch him, he locked my hand in the car window and dragged the car on the road at high speed.

In her tweet, Swati Maliwal wrote that when the Chairperson of the Women’s Commission is not safe in Delhi, what will happen to the rest.
