India closes its embassy in Kabul, staff return

After the Taliban rule in Afghanistan, India closed its embassy in Kabul and withdrew its diplomatic staff.

According to Indian media reports, a C-17 aircraft of the Indian Air Force departed Kabul airport for Delhi with 120 Indian nationals.

Reports say that the Indian plane left Kabul with its citizens under the security cordon provided by US forces.

Previously, Indian nationals stranded in different parts of Afghanistan were transferred to the Kabul airport.

A statement issued by the Indian Interior Ministry said that in view of the current situation in Afghanistan, electronic visas are being introduced for the return of Indian nationals stranded in the country, which will speed up the processing of visa applications.
