India Announces 18-Member Squad for England Tour

The stage is set for a thrilling Test series between India and England. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced an 18-member squad for the upcoming tour. Youngbloods are taking center stage, with Shubman Gill appointed as captain and Rishabh Pant as vice-captain.

This fresh-faced team is ready to take on the English challenge. Besides Gill and Pant, the squad includes seasoned players like KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah. But what’s got everyone talking is the inclusion of several young guns. Arshdeep Singh, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Prasidh Krishna, and Sai Sudarshan are some of the newbies who’ve made the cut. Their explosive performances in the 2025 IPL have clearly paid off.

On the flip side, some big names have been left out. Shreyas Iyer, Mohammad Shami, and Sarfaraz Khan are among those who didn’t make it to the squad. Sarfaraz, in particular, had a disappointing Australia tour, where he didn’t get a chance to play a single Test match. Now, he’s been axed from the team altogether.

So, who’s in? The squad features Shubman Gill (captain), Rishabh Pant (vice-captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudarshan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akashdeep, Arshdeep Singh, and Kuldeep Yadav. The action kicks off next month, and we can’t wait to see how these players perform on English soil.
