According to the Indian media report, the Union Minister of India Nitin Gadkari announced that considering the safety of the passengers in the car, the government had made 6 airbags mandatory, now it has been extended for one year.

Modi government minister announced that 6 airbags will be installed in all cars by October 1, 2023.

According to the Indian media report, earlier there was a proposal to make 6 airbags mandatory in all M1 category vehicles from October 1, 2022. This proposal came out after the deaths in road accidents in India.
