Independiente celebrated against Estudiantes with two goals in five minutes

Independiente recovered with a 2-1 victory against Estudiantes de La Plata for the fourth round of the Professional Soccer League. The winner’s goals were scored by Leandro Benegas and Leandro Fernández, while Leandro Godoy discounted for the visitor.

Both casts encouraged an intense and even first half. Red started better, using the tips and with an inspired Leandro Fernández. Andújar saved Pincha in the clearest.

Then, control passed into the hands of the visitor, who also had his chances, with a pinball inside the area that led to a deflected shot by Zuqui, as the most important opportunity.

In the complement, in a burst the local team was up 2-0 thanks to goals from Leandros, Benegas and Fernández. Although the visit was deducted through Leandro Godoy, the three points were taken by the Avellaneda team that had the debut of Iván Marcone, a brand new addition to the squad, who came on from the substitute bench 15 minutes from the end.

The midfielder, a self-confessed Red fan, received a standing ovation. The winner will play again on Monday the 27th when he visits the Patronato, while Estudiantes will do so on Saturday against Newell’s.
