IND vs SA: The Indian team has failed to save their goal in the T20 International match for some time now. In the shortest format of the game since the Asian Cup so far, the India team cannot save the goal. Before the T20 series against South Africa starting on Wednesday, September 28, everyone learned the reason for all these defeats that India got. In the pre-match press conference a day before the first T20 match against South Africa, India’s hitting coach spoke to the media and also revealed the reason for the team’s losses.

Hitting coach Vikram Rathod has blamed the dew factor for India’s loss in the Asian Cup ahead of the match in Thiruvananthapuram. Since the Super Four stage of the Asian Cup, India has played six T20 Internationals and lost three of them and won three. India had to face three defeats against Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Australia while defending the target.

Surprisingly, contrary to Rathod’s claims, no member of the Indian team who spoke to the media after the losses against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Dubai blamed the spray for it.

Rathod said before the start of the T20 series against South Africa: “We are working to do better while defending the goal, but in fairness to our bowlers the draw played a big part.” Every time we failed to defend the objective, these were the places where there was dew that made it easy to chase.

Captain’s refusal, coach’s refusal

In the context of the match against Australia in Mohali, this may be true to some extent. Although India had a target of over 200 to save at Mohali, the bowlers were unable to defend it. Although captain Rohit Sharma refused to blame the dew for the loss after this match, Rathod felt that the dew was more responsible for the loss than the bowlers.
