Indian captain Virat Kohli was ruled out of Test 2 on Monday due to upper back pain just before the start of the game against South Africa. Vice captain KL Rahul will take over the team in the match in Kohli’s place.
He said in the draw that Kohli is expected to be available for the final test of the series starting on January 11.
Rahul, who took the field for the pitch, said: “Virat Kohli has pain in his upper back. He is under the supervision of a physiotherapist and is expected to be fit for the next test.”

The Hanuma Vihari hitting all-rounder has been included in the game XI instead. Struggling to find his batting rhythm, Kohli will no longer be able to complete his historic 100th test in the third and final game of the series in Cape Town. He will also miss the ODI series against South Africa from January 19.
